The VERVERI ensemble welcomes you
Created in 2004, the band gives concerts
through associations, music festivals,
municipalities, various cultural centers...
Specialised in the area of ancient music,
songs, melodies, laments, chants and dance tunes
traditionally played during country parties,
weddind ceremonies, funerals...
Ververi performs these tunes to the sound of wind instruments
Duduk and Tutak, and Dhol drum,
accompanied with an electronic keyboard.
REPERTOIRE
The repertoire includes music of the Armenian plateau
as well as Georgian tunes.
A concert can be followed by a conference
given by Gerard Madilian, author of the book
"Traditional Armenian Instrumental Music"
where are presented principles of this ancient music
with its specific musical registers,
the historical sources and the news of this musical universe.
